I was the Engine Troop on 7788..... a SSgt at the time. McChord's 1983 Rodeo bird. lol yeah I remember the TP Drop I rounded most of that TP myself. and our wall of Hamms strapped down on the floor. Our leaking prop when we diverted into Little Rock on the way there. Borrowed the parts and R&Red when we hit the ground at Pope. Good times I remember Pt Smith and Bob Fay..

This is as close as I will get to the old C-130 I crewed back in 1968 and 1969 at CCKAB in Taiwan. 63-7787 which was destroyed during a Red Flag exercise at Bicycle Lake in California. When I crewed 7787 It was part of the 314th TAW and it had both external tanks for long range missions like going to Austrailia, which I missed because I just returned from a 36 hour mission. Most all the E models while at CCK had there external tanks removed to support the shorter hauls to Viet Nam. Just a couple out of the 100 or so C-130's at CCK kept their external tanks on.

I flew 63-7788 many times with the 36th TAS, McChord AFB, WA, from 1980 - 1984. Bob Fay and I flew her at the 1983 Volant Rodeo competition where she took the "Best Maintenance" award. We 'bombed' the home drome hangers with 150 rolls of toilet paper (air deflector door bomb bays) upon arrival at TCM - best airdrop score for the entire mission!
