Another tail number in my troop while troop commander of Echo Troop, 1-7 Cavalry in the 1st Cavalry Division (OIF II - 2004-2005). I flew this particular aircraft for 7.4 hours on the day of Iraq's first free elections on 30 Jan 2005. Just as we were preparing for a battle handover we received a troops in contact call from our 1-7 Cavalry ground troops (attached to 5BCT). We responded, and engaged a building from which the ground troops were receiving fire from (small arms and RPGs). We were in a rocket/rocket configuration and fired a total of 10 rockets in 3 passes, one of which we put a rocket straight through the front door of the house. Pictures of the house can be sent if an email address is provided.
